Gold Square went to $600,000 at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York Bred Yearling Sale–the second highest return at the auction–to acquire Forgone (Hard Spun). Out of an unraced dam, the colt is a half-brother to MGISP Wonder Gal (Tiz Wonderful), who produced champion 2-year-old filly Wonder Wheel (Into Mischief).
